If you are wondering what this book is all about, here’s what Leadertreks says about it:

In this bold new look at recruiting and training quality adult staff and volunteers, Darren Sutton challenges our thinking on who is called to serve in the youth ministry. Hint: it’s everyone. Darren’s humor will draw you in, and his wisdom and experience in youth ministry will challenge your perspectives on who to recruit and how to train them. This book will help you look everywhere for adults who can passionately serve in youth ministry. After all, everyone’s called to youth ministry…they just don’t know it yet.

Remember, comment and tweet to win by 9am EST October 22nd

I was told to write anything I wish to write about – naturally I chose to write a word-by-word analysis of the classic masterpiece “Atlas Shrugged”. The first sentence: “The light was ebbing, and Eddie Willers could not distinguish the bum’s face. The bum had said it simply, without expression.” Let’s start off with the word “the” and it’s implications on the novel. I think….

    Just kidding.

I would actually love to share with the YouthWork Talk community about our youth meeting last night. I’ve officially been at my new Church for 1 month today. The first few Sundays I still felt like the “new guy”. I was new to them and they were new to me. They were a little bit shy and reserved because they didn’t really know me yet – last night it felt like I’ve been there for a year!

I just love when you finally feel at home in a new Church. The week where you feel like the youth want you to be there – like you’re their youth minister. That happened last night and it was pretty awesome.

Now back to “Atlas Shrugged” – jk.

I’ve known Darren for a number of years now and would love to have his new book. In fact, I think it might just be helpful for some of the youth ministry classes I teach. Keep up the good work gentlemen!
